Hi,
At the moment we are developing and selling ready-to-use Excel Templates on our website. They are simply digital products. Users can download and open them directly in Excel software and start using them right away. Each template has its own product page (some of them have version dropdowns like country selector for a map or year selector for a calendar template)
We are now planning to build the Google Sheets versions of our templates. But we are stuck about how to go with it. There are two options:
Option 1: Create separate product pages for Google Sheets versions. It will have its own images, own video, own product description etc.. Good for SEO and traffic I guess. But in the end of the day, it is the same concept, same template, same info. For example, think about Excel Todo List Template. It will have a separate Google Sheets Todo List Template. Does it make sense for a user? In the end of the day, it is a "todo list template" regardless of being whether in Excel or GS. Am I wrong?
Option 2: Provide GS versions together with Excel on the same product page. Just put a dropdown selector so that user can choose whichever they want. Images, video can change according to this selection. Even though this looks like very easy for the end user, this method feels like a good SEO and traffic opportunity being wasted.
What do you think about the best way to go?
Thanks in advance!
