Recently I have been noticing websites pop up for keywords I am ranking for, these domains are new domains that have been 301 redirected from an old expired domain. They are killing the Serps with over crazy monthly visits for a site under 1 year old.
One competitor i have been tracking for over a year used an expired domain to create hundreds of affiliate and information pages and shot up to 200k monthly views in a short period of time. This website got hit with the last update and was reduced to around 40k monthly organic visits. However, they purchased a brand new domain and 301 redirected every page to a new page on the new domain. Couple of weeks later the new domain shot up to 450k monthly visit.
It's getting really hard competing fairly in this field and these people are able to make hundreds of thousands in a short period of time.
Has anyone else been noticing this trend? I thought 301 redirects where dead, apperently not.
