With Moz's page authority and domain authority metrics, how does a given website's DA influence the PA of any given page on that domain?

Was testing around with some things using Moz's DA & PA and I've noticed that checking a completely new imgur post by their metrics has the page authority starting at 50 which inclined me to believe that the page authority on any given page is at least somewhat influenced by that site's domain authority. I was hoping to figure out what the relationship between the two are.

PA vs DA Graphs:

My first and last post ever on Voat: https://i.imgur.com/Wx5xJh9.png

Does anyone have any ideas on how the two relate to eachother and how much DA affects PA? From my cursory research it seems like new pages on domains tend to have very close to half the domain's page authority as a starting point, it surely couldn't be that the minimum page authority for any given page is just arbitrarily close to half the DA right?

I appreciate any insight in advance, if you want me to edit this post with graphs of any url's PA vs DA to further test this hypothesis just comment below, as you can tell I was short on sites with low DA to test a new post's PA.
