Expired domains (exact match) with a buffer site? + Some other???

Okay. So I've been looking at expired domains in my niche and have definitely found some very related to my site. Kind of excited, yet don't want to mess up.

These are:

  • Exact keyword match domains
  • Some of these are kind of old like 5-10 years.
  • They have a few hundred links although one had 60,000+ links (probably a dead give away) and 0 DR.

I ran them through hrefs backlink checker and 1 had a DR of 9, yet 98% dofollow links (534). And the other DR of 2.2 and 300+ links.

I am wondering:

  1. Redirect to existing pages on my site or build them out?
  2. How do you find not exact match related expired domains?
  3. Redirecting them to a buffer site? Such as a Google site which then links to my site.

Exact match domains are kind of cheesy and spammy looking so I kind of don't want to affiliate my brand with them however I am wondering if I can benefit from them by either building them out into some sort of forum, blog or ugc sites or just redirect them to a new name for the site.

I've seen like 3 or 4 that are similar content so I think maybe buying 4 sites and redirecting them all at once might not be good but if I was to put a buffer site between them and mine while I work on them.

Thoughts?
