HELP! What are some link building techniques worked well for your SEO/Digital marketing website?

Hey,

We're brainstorming for new link building techniques for our digital marketing agency website.
I know most of the old school techniques won't work and it's really hard to earn good links now.

We've already tried the usual ones like: guest blogs, infographic outreach, link building from brand mentions, etc.

Other ones in our mind right now are:
Broken page link building, resource page link building, testimonial link building, offering free tools, etc.

So if you did link building for a digital marketing website:

1. Please let me know which one of these techniques worked well for you

2. Any other techniques helped you earn quality links

Also, if anyone had success in earning good links by building relationship with authors/site admins, etc; please share your tips/insights.
