Copying content and using canonicals

Hi

We've be given a 'social media' kit by one of our suppliers, it basically consists of a number of different posts we can cut and past onto our social media pages with supporting images...which is great and saves thinking stuff up.

However some of the supporting links e.g. how to buy this product, link back to the main brand page. I would like them to link to our website.

My thinking was to copy the content from the main brand page, but set a canonical link back to the main brand page so we don't get penalised for duplicate

Does this sound like a feasible plan??
