301 redirect: How long to take affect and regain SERP?

I implemented a site move, just one week ago. All the 301 redirects are working correctly and I've used Google's 'site move' tool.

This morning, one of my key landing pages on 'olddomain.com' was removed from Google's SERPs but it hasn't been replaced by 'newdomain.com'. Instead, I'm not ranking at all for this particular high volume keyword.

I had assumed the 'site move' tool would replace pages 1 for 1, same day once it ascertains the page move is permanent and the page offers the same value.

Is this not the case? If not, does anybody have any experience with a site move? How long did it take for the new domain to regain the same rankings as the old one?
