I have a dream, a dream that one day Google Analytics and Google Search Console will match landing sessions with clicks.
When comparing Google Search Console URL clicks, for the year to date, with Google Analytics organic landing sessions I found the below...
- Without any segmentation or filtering there are 5% more sessions than URL clicks
- When comparing one URL without segmentation there are 10% more sessions than URL clicks
- When comparing one URL with UK based users only there are 34% more sessions than URL clicks
- When comparing one URL with UK mobile only users only there are 44% more sessions than URL clicks
The data correlation: greater granularity = less accuracy
Have you ever compared your data in Google Analytics with Google Search Console?
