I used to work for an absolutely terrible company that outsourced their content-writing to people based in India who did not have English as a first language. Their content was awful and so I always had to rewrite it.
However, the content wasn’t just difficult to read, but always targeting very specific and awkward keywords, like ‘Sofa Set UK’. That keyword would just be thrown into the content a few times, and it was so clearly for SEO and not the user.
But, is there a way to rank for that keyword otherwise? Would Google know that its UK-based, could you split the keyword up into individual words? Would better copywriters actually be able to use these keywords in a natural way?
Or do you need to have the whole keyword together like this to rank for it?
