Successful niche business, looking to finally do some SEO.

Hey! Been lurking for a bit and have learned some basics and great tools from top posts and searching around r/seo

I have 1 direct competitor who's website gets much less traffic (organic and paid), but the one keyword I want to steal is part of his (competing) products name, so he had quite a few image results and shows up first on search.

I'm wondering besides Google ads (already setting up) tweaking my seo via image, alt text, h1 etc how can I overtake this keyword with my larger following and audience?

Any insight or points in the right direction to help would be greatly appreciated!

edit Should mention my Domain and site is about 5 years old, and from semrush it appears he gets about 140-160 clicks from this keyword. Not huge but would love to soak up my competitions traffic.
