Hi guys! I hope this kind of questions are allowed here - I should probably ask this in a sub related to careers but I thought I'd ask here first, since you all have knowledge about the SEO field.
I am a soon-to-be graduate but I'd like to pursue a career that is unrelated to my degree. Now, I found this job advertisement for an intern in SEO (they basically hire you, train you and you become a full-time employee). They require basic HTML, CSS and PHP knowledge and "interest in SEO". I know basic HTML and CSS and I am interested in SEO (to prove this I did Google Fundamentals of Digital Marketing and I am doing another SEO course by Yoast Academy). The problem is that I have no knowledge of PHP - I could easily start learning it but I am worried that by the time I learn the basics, they will already have hired someone else.
So, my question is - do you think PHP is really essential for SEO? Should I just give it a go and learn PHP on the way if they require it or would it be a waste of application if I sent it now?
Thanks!
