Had this idea since I know a couple of industry trolls (competitors) that wrote sh*t about me. So I've tried the normal way of trying to optimize other pages to outrank those they wrote but so far not so good and my other idea was trying to increase the bounce rate on their posts by back linking to those posts using opposing anchor text.
Like for example:
anchor text link says: coca cola review
But actually links to a shoe store.
Or...
More specifically one troll wrote a review on a mini wordpress site he created 'Mybrandreviews.com' so I thought of linking to his brand instead on sites like reddit or wherever. so that if the person is looking for a review on his brand and goes to that page and sees it's on another brand they will probably bounce.
On some of posts I've done I've pointed out the posts that this two trolls wrote about me however I am starting to think that people will go to these posts and read them to see for theirselves which will increase the time on page and may be why they are staying in search results.
What do you think of this technique?
I've got a subreddit and thought of trying this with a link post, but IDK seems a little risky since I would be linking to their stuff but IDK I was watching some video on CTR the other day so it seems like it could work too. And I suppose I could remove the links later if it sinks.
