Can corporate website with franchise page be hurting with duplicate content?

So I have a new potential client and I'm at loss at what is going on with their web presence. The client is a dog trainer who has a franchise from some corporate chain that has trainers in each area. It's its own dog directory and clearly has great ranks and marketing. So she has her own page on the corporate site, as well as her own wordpress site on the side. Her google local listing is linked to the page on the corporate site. They were the ones who built the wordpress site for her.

This is where I'm kind of lost. Why? Why divert traffic to two different spots? I havent run a citation check yet to see what all the others come up with but I'd assume the same as google local, which is the corporate site page. She also has 62 reviews on google local, ALL 62 are 5 stars. I asked her about that and she swears they aren't fake and that she just always gets reviews after working with someone. I wonder if that can hurt the listing.

I'm also considering that she might be ranking as well as its going to get. I see her on local search in my area but she does two counties.

Should I commit to driving traffic to the corporate landing page? or her wordpress site? Is this hurting her with duplicate content? If so, why did they recommend this to her? They have a legit directory with good SERP ranks so I don't get it.

appreciate any insight,

Thanks
