Hi,
I own a digital marketing agency and when I've sold SEO in the past and I'm always more interested in selling to businesses who are already paying for online advertising because 1) they see the value in paying for marketing, 2) they are trying to grow their business, 3) they have a marketing budget and 4) they are already paying for online marketing.
I found list building to be very, very time-consuming. Putting together a list of 100 businesses in a particular industry (dentist, chiropractors, etc.) paying for online advertising could take days with all the researching and data entry.
Basically, I came across a huge bottleneck in my business because I was spending the majority of my time on list building rather than sales. I usually resorted to just cold calling every dentist or chiropractor which wasted my time on business owners who don't market online.
So I came up with a process/method that is really time-efficient to build large lists of businesses that are paying for online advertising. My current sources for leads are Yelp advertisers, Google Maps Box advertisers and Yellowpages.com advertisers (I'm brainstorming ideas for more sources of businesses that advertise online. Any suggestions welcome.).
Anyway, I could probably put together a list of 2k to 3k businesses in my state doing some sort of online advertising for any industry in the 350 largest cities in the state and I'd like to transition out of digital marketing into selling these lists for various industries and states.
I'm not trying to sell anything because I haven't even built my first list yet, but I'm trying to get feedback from people in the SEO industry (these lists would also be useful for social media management agencies) so I can get an idea of the value SEO agencies or freelancers would see in these lists and what particular industries I should target.
Also, these lists would contain company name, phone number and address so you can do a direct mail campaign and follow up with a cold call.
If you could kindly help me out, could you answer the following questions?
- What industry or industries would be most valuable to you?
- What would you pay per lead?
- Would you be interested enough in these lists to actually purchase one?
I appreciate any feedback. Thanks for your time.
Thanks, Recovery_Stem
