A small local newspaper ran an unfortunate article about me years ago regarding a potential jury trial. All charges were dropped and the newspaper was nice enough to remove the article from their website. Since then, they’ve been bought out by another, larger newspaper. However their old Facebook page is still active. Even though the original newspaper article was taken down, there’s still a Facebook post that accompanied it. When you search my name in google, this FB post ranks on the first page. My own Facebook page doesn’t even show up, and I’m relatively active. I tried contacting the new company but they said they don’t have access to the page to update/change old articles. Is there anything I can do to suppress this and make my own Facebook page outrank the bad one?
