Is it safe to give do-follow backlinks in sponsored posts ?

Hi Everyone,

I am new to blogging and have been recently approached for sponsored posts.

But i have heard that it is against Google's policy.

I am quite confused whether i should accept the sponsored post or not.

Please advice me.
