Like many here, I had to deal with a certain amount of fallout from Google's recent YMYL updates that disproportionately affected healthcare-related sites. I did a certain amount of grumbling.
However, I just searched for some pretty specific information about a pretty specific health condition, and was rather blown away by the results. I've been searching the same keywords all year and have only found one or two pages on my topic, even after paging through all 20 pages of results. This time around, using the same keywords, I got dozens of top-quality resources on the first couple pages - links to research studies, articles from clinics, etc. Finally I have the information I've been seeking for months.
Whatever they did, I can now see the benefit from it from the user's perspective. I think I'm going to stop my grumbling now.
