How can I determine my traffic is genuine?

I built a new website and had a guy do some SEO for as it's not my area of expertise but my traffic has in my eyes shot up unrealistically over a few days.

Checklist:

- Low bounce- Unique IP's- A mix of direct and non-direct

I'm convinced I'm being had over (to boost his reviews) but he has been careful to not leave no telltale signs. I can't help but also notice people are flowing from my sales page to signup page at least 10 times a day but no one has made an account. I could be wrong but I thought I would see if anyone can chime in on their thoughts.

Another thing I forgot to mention is that some search terms are extracts from my webpage that no one will ever search for appearing in my g analytics. I paid the dude to build some backlinks to give me a boost and he has done and given my the links to be indexed but I just don't get how my analytics have gone haywire and I can't now be sure I'm working with genuine statistics.
