Moving a blog from subdomain to subfolder

Hello!

I am maintaining a blog which is on a subdomain of a main website. It has quite the number of posts already. However, it is performing quite poorly comparing to main site. Looking at our competitors, everyone has a blog on a subfolder rather than subdomain.

We tried a lot of things to improve our SERP for blog posts, but nothing seems to work. I am quite convinced that moving our blog to a subfolder would bring us value and more traffic.

I seek secondary opinions, to make sure.

Since I will have to pitch it to our tech team, would there be any technical difficulties caused by this? Would moving the already established blog with every post to subfolder from subdomain could in any way HARM the sites? Let's say if a website already has quite the number of pages, does adding a blog can harm it's performance?

Please share your experiences. Any opinion is welcome.

Major Google Update of Search Rankings is Coming Real Soon!

Using Aggregate Rating For Service Pages

I've been interested in using aggregate rating for a client's service pages, but I'm also feeling like it might be a waste of time to implement right now.

Domain is relatively new, only just started tinkering around with the SEO a month ago and given what I understand about aggregate rating, it seems like there wouldn't be much use adding it right now.

I've got him to get clients to rate his business through GMB and these reviews are on the site, but the site doesn't have any real 'authority' (loose word) at the moment so I doubt Google will even provide the review stars to these pages.

Should I bother or just wait until we start climbing in the SERPS? My guess is probably wait, but I'm interested to see if anyone has been in a similar position.
