A competitor in a local business I've noticed ranks really well on SEO. I've been doing some research on his SEO strategy, and I've found that he actually owns other domain names that just 301 to his website.
i.e. He's bought 2 other domain names and 301's them to his website:
www.<city><keyword>.com
www.<county><keyword>.com
Is this a valid strategy, and is it worth the $12 / year per domain name?
