I am wondering if there is any value to using a second domain if it's a perfect match from a keyword perspective? Are there any best practices in this regard? For example, say you were a plumber called 'Acme Plumbers' serving the Toronto market and 'TorontoPlumber.com' was available at regular .com prices. Should buy it? In addition to AcmePlumbers.com how should you use the keyword domain?
My doubts about the value of a second domain is that it would start with low domain authority and any effort to build it up would mean less effort on the primary domain. Short of having an automatic moneymaker that some single domains like coffee.com have been. and am I right to be skeptical? I also assume the value in keyword specific domains is declining with all the new TLD domain extensions.
Thanks for any thoughts you may have on this.
