I own a local service business that operates almost exclusively in the suburbs surrounding the city that I live in. I set up my GMB listing and received the little paper that google mails to you to confirm the GMB account and physical address.
Heres the problem: when you search for the service my business offers + the suburbs that I work in, my business doesn't show up. When you search for the service my business offers and then the city that I live in, my business DOES show up. As I mentioned, I don't perform any work in the city so this is not helpful at all for my business.
I have included in my GMB account my service area is in the surrounding suburbs and I have included the names of these suburbs in my info section.
My suspicion is that because I do not have a location inputted in GMB (due to not having an office and going to the customer's home to perform the work) it is causing GMB to default to the address where the GMB verification card was sent.
If anyone has any ideas on what might be causing this and any ways to change this feature so that my business shows up in my targeted service areas I would greatly appreciate it!
