Checked mobile SERPS today for keywords I previously ranked #1 - first page now almost all ads, PAA, videos, etc.

I couldn't believe it today.

I used to rank #1 for a very high traffic keyword that would display prominently at the top of page #1.

Today I searched for the term and I got (in order):

5 x ads (large boxes incl. app ads with "Install" buttons)

Large featured video squares showing YouTube videos

"People also ask" (my site not included)

A carousel for books related to the topic

... and finally: TWO ORGANIC LINKS (my site not included). TWO.

Is this where search is heading? How on earth is anybody going to compete if we're all on page 2+ after a bunch of ads and featured items?
