I have some old dropped domains with good links and plenty of "authority" and intend to 301 redirect a few to new money sites. This is where it gets a bit murky for me (not on the technical side, but on the SEO impact side).
Questions for you:
1) How to properly redirect a domain's root URL? I have thought of redirecting only root URL and 404 on everything else.
Note: I'd be wary of 301 redirecting everything, as this might be seen as a soft 404 and some URLs I don't want to redirect
2) How many different 301 redirects to a single domain would be OK? ( I presume G is aware of the tactic )
3) For individual URL's having a lot of IBLs, does it work to "split" the targets from a single domain, and redirect different individual URL's to different target domains (money sites)?
TIA
