Keyword intent ['product vs. product(s)'] and how can you rank well for a product where only review sites and really old sites do? Any novel ideas?

I'm on like the 6th page for the product I sell. At the moment I have just one product so I am wondering if the searchers intent of a singular product versus plural matters? It seems to show the same results.

The sites that rank well for that keyword are either advertising based review sites that have many different courses (the product) or are old company sites with several courses.

IDK if it's possible to rank here.

At one time I might have been briefly on the 3rd page years ago.

I had this one idea to use Medium since it ranks better and get some reviews together on other courses and then on mine and put them all together so that I basically have a page similar to a review site, but I'll have to make it better somehow.

If I used my site to do it - it does actually rank well for some company reviews, but I think Medium would outrank it.

However, then I am bringing attention to my competition, but the competition is out there regardless. I don't know how else to get my site to rank.

Any thoughts?

Maybe if I carefully select competitors and position myself the right way it could work.
