New or Existing article of the competitor for backlink?

Hi

I did competitor analysis and contacted websites where they have backlinks. Many have agreed to put my websites backlink.

My question is whether to get backlink from the same article where my competitor has backlink (some traffic is generated from there) or should I go for a new article? Which will benefit more?
