SEO for New Blog

Hello. I recently started a blog and am somewhat upset with my SEO performance. My first post was 9/15/2019. My expectations were not high for the first 3 months, but I expected some traffic after. I post around 5 posts per week ranging from 1,000 to 2,500 words. This require A LOTTTT of work. I have done a ton of keyword research to find keywords with relatively low competition. The blog is in a very competitive space, personal finance and investing. I have worked on my website speed and performance and have managed to increase it's speed to the best of the themes ability. It seems the only thing I am lacking is backlinks. I have done some blogging outreach and I have gotten little response or people asking for money to promote my content.

I fully understand how difficult SEO can be (especially in my space) and I plan to keep churning out content on a regular basis. It seems that backlinks are the number 1 thing from boosting my SEO performance. To give you an idea I've had 10 website visits from SEO since I started (in the US). Does anyone have any advice for a new blog like mine? Thanks in advance!
