Hi r/SEO! Was asked a question today and had an immediate response based on logic/common sense, but having trouble finding any supporting content.
The manager of our affiliate site network suggested linking from the blogs on our money sites to content on the affiliate sites with specific anchor text. My gut reaction was, 'why would we take a user off of the money site?' I also was concerned that two-way links might be a red-flag for Google. I've gone down a couple rabbit holes looking for an answer that's more substantial than, 'because I said so', and no luck.
Anyone in the community have a resource they can point me to, or insights I can share with my team, one way or another?
