Help - Proofs for basics SEO rules

Hi there !

So, I've a problem with an agency... I'm a webmarketing freelancer for non-profits. We are two agencies working for the same client, they are specialized in general marketing strategy and I'm in charge of the digital marketing strategy (websites, seo , content and that kind of stuff).

But right now, they are fighting me because we don't want the same strategy :

  • I keep telling them that our main website have to be really focused on one specialized theme (let's say, "vegan shoes") and have another website on a ≠ URL for all the non-targeted junks from our "clients" (clients-who-buy-our-shoes-kind-of-junk = their job offer, their events about anything, etc...)

  • They want to put everything on the same website, same URL : from specialised theme "vegan shoes" to broader and competitive theme like "shoes" and also all the non-targeted junks from our clients like their job offer, events, announcements... Whatever their business are about !
    • Because "if it's a sub-sub-sub-page, it counts less"
    • Because "it will show how active we are"

So, do you know ANY ressources proving my or their points ? It looks like so basic to me, I can find a useful thing...

(Or if I was wrong from the start, PLEASE let me know so I can learn !)
