I run a small e-commerce store where the majority of my traffic comes from PPC. I haven't done much for SEO which I'm starting to learn about now. In the short-term, I was considering paying somebody on Upwork to do "google SEO with manual high authority backlinks and trust links". Is it worth it?

I thought that Google would punish or ignore this sort of thing but this guy has done over 5000 jobs and has 4.9 rating. It costs £16 to do 80 authority back links and "Up to 3 URLs and 10 keywords. TOP Premium sites. More Dofollow backlinks. Premium indexing."

People in the comments have said the work has made a difference to their website's rankings.

Is it worth it? Especially as there are so many other things I could be doing on my store. I'm just worried about doing something like this and getting penalised by Google.
