I'm aware of the general rule of 'make your site mobile friendly & fast and Google will reward you'.
But, my mobile traffic is significantly under indexed vs. my desktop traffic. It's about 50/50 mobile/desktop, but logic says it should be much higher than this:
- It's a consumer-facing site, and most traffic is mobile
- From previous experience with similar products, mobile impressions should be significantly higher
According to the 'site speed' in search console, the speed of my pages is 'moderate'. I know that there are things I can do to speed this up, but it seems pretty fast (FCP: 2.2 s), and there are loads of other very well known sites that are considerably slower (and have a much lower Page Speed score) - even things like BBC.
So, my questions are as follows:
- Does this this also look weird to you?
- If so, what should I try to do about it?
- FCP 2.2s on mobile - is that something to worry about?
