How does a custom review system affect my "Review" structured data implementation?

Hello,

I want to implement Review structured data on a website (can't link to it for reasons of confidentiality), but this website has a custom review system, based on a medal.
Medals are just a way to enhance the visual aspect of rating - but in order to review, you need to give a "numeric" score from 1 to 10.

Does this impact Review structured data implementation?
