How does SEO traffic affect e-commerce conversion rates?

I have a branded store with 3 products. Optimizing the product pages and the homepage will only get me so far, in terms of SEO. Can't really expand to more products, as it doesn't make sense for my tightly-knit brand.

I'm trying to decide if it's worth my time/investment to open a blog and start producing content related to the niche, since I don't expect these visitors to convert nearly as well as the paid advertising does. And there's also more advertising platforms I could expand out to and devote time/investment towards, instead of focusing on SEO.

Does anyone have any data on how blog visitors from organic search convert to customers for an e-commerce store?

I suppose that number may depend on the exact kind of content in the blog, and how similar those organic search visitors are to the ideal target customers. In my case, my store sells products for hot yoga (a special type of yoga). 110,000 monthly searches for "hot yoga" and there's demand for informative articles on the topic.

I could certainly devote the time and resources to build a blog for these kinds of articles, but it's just hard to know how well they'll convert, since the vast majority of the time, they're only clicking my webpage in the SERPs to read the article for information, not to purchase a product. I'll certainly try capturing emails, promoting my products within the article, etc, but it's still hard to know if the conversion rate will be high enough to warrant all the time/resources to build out a blog that will drive a meaningful amount of traffic.
