My company is creating a Canadian specific site (.ca) for a client who already has an "International" site (.ai). Both sites are in English, and they do have slightly different content because they target different audiences. However, they also share a lot of very similar content which would obviously appear as duplicate content.
My question is, can I use canonical tags or some other tag to mark the sites as "sister" sites that just target different markets/countries?
