Internation webshop SEO – how should we target foreign markets?

Hi all,

I have been given a challenge with helping identifying most important pages to translate first for international targeting (firstly they will go after American markets).

So, we want to transfer the success story to US+UK the best way possible.

From the technical aspect the shop is setup correctly with hreflang (en-US for US and en-GB for UK), and the shop is performing great in our own country. We want to know what pages and products to translate first. I am looking in Ahrefs and finding their top pages for "non-branded" searches as the brand is relatively unknown abroad.

These pages should in my opinion be translated first depending on how the competition ranks on the different keywords in USA.

Is this a good approach, or would you guys do it a bit differently? If yes, do you have tips how I should setup my keyword analysis, and how you would prioritize translation tasks? We are a small team, so we want to focus or translations efforts on the pages/keywords that would give us meaningful results first. Then we would focus on the rest.

Any inputs would be valued.

Due to NDA I can't tell much about more about the webshop itself, sorry.
