Question: how to best separate webshop content from core site (different goal)?

Hi all,

I hope I'm at the right place to ask. I work for a small dissertation publishing company. Our main business is having people publish their work (dissertations, academic books, etc) by us. We also sell the 20 000+ catalogue of books as on-demand print in our webshop.

Right now one of our main projects is SEO and Ads optimization - apparently our score (especially the quality scores with Google Ads) could be much better.

I recently started to wonder, if we could get better results if we could somehow separate the webshop product pages (the pages for the books, hosted in 3 languages) from the sites of the core webpage (the publisher's site, offering our printing services to potential customers, where we want to increase traffic and visibility).

Obviously the book pages generate, statistically speaking, very little to no traffic, but they still need to stay searchable on Google, so a simple nofollow tag is not a good solution.

Is there a way to explain google that these are different units? Or am I on a completely wrong track and this does not affect our standing?

Thanks for all your tips!
