What are the best ways to outrank our previous website (.com) on SERP? We're using a new domain now and we hope that this will rank first on our branded keywords.

Hi! We need help outranking our prev website on SERPs. Bec of an unfortunate reason, we were not allowed access to our prev domain. So we resolved to create a new domain for our website (.io). However, .com still seems to do well even if it hasn't been touched for over a year now. Can you please share the best ways we can outrank our old site?
