What do you think the reason is for the mobile version of my website outperforming the desktop version in rankings despite being atrocious performance wise?

I didnt include traffic as a metric here because i already assume more mobile searches.

That said why does my website with atrocious performance outperform the desktop version for identical keywords?

Nothing special was done in regards to content on mobile.

I know google favors mobile but is this it?
