Does Google index and read content pulled onto a page via JS?

Question.

If the core body content of say, an ecommerce listing, is pulled in via some JS, that is hosted on another page on the same domain, is that content on the listing page indexable for SEO/content?

What if that other pages content was also pulled in via JS from an external source?

Pretty sure that any content directly pulled from an external domain would be ignored (or not prioritized) for obvious reasons.

But if it was via another internal page?

So..

Product page, pulls content from <- a content page (same domain), which pulls the profitable content from <- some external source/cdn distribution.

Googled and can't really find much on JS and Google and indexing.

Thanks.
