Ok, so this is a little tricky to explain but here goes.
We have a keyword assigned to a product page. The keyword is Cat 1. This is technical term relating to Cellular IoT products, but obviously the word Cat is what it is, and Cat 1 is also a physical cable. This word has been assigned to this page for at least six months and we have had no issues with ranking and we have been consistently in the first page for this keyword and page.
However we first noticed a problem at the end of April. A google search showed that the page had disappeared in search results for this keyword. But we checked it again a few days later and the page was back and ranking again in the first page for this keyword.
Fast forward to the end of May and the same problem. We have now tried over several days and the page for this keyword does not show in results. We have checked gsc and analytics and there are no obvious issues with the page.
Now this is where it gets interesting. If I search for Cat1, the page appears in the first page. If I search for Cat 1 which is the assigned keyword, it does not.
Is it as simple as the fact that Cat 1 can have too many other meanings and the page results are ecclectic? Or is the issue with the page? Anyone have a similar experience and can help!
