Did I get duped? Domain Rank vs Domain Authority

Hi,

I just found out that someone I employed has been creating backlinks from websites that he/she claimed were good because they had a high DA.

My organic traffic hasn't improved at all in 6 months, so just ran these domains through Ahrefs and they all have DRs below 10.

Did I get duped? Did this person just show me DA scores because they are inflated and look much better than DR scores at first glance?
