Thanks for trying to help, or at least reading.
I decided to migrate from Wix to Wordpress for various reasons. This has been basically a nightmare, as nothing worked out the way it was supposed to.
I ended up deciding not to move my domain over, because it's only been 30 days since I purchased the domain and I'd have to wait another 30 days to see if I'm even able to accomplish transferring my domain. I didn't like the original domain name that much anyways, so... it worked out.
The issue is that redirecting from Wix is proving to be a bit complicated for me. I can do a lot of stuff, using FTP programs to edit my site, entering in code I find online, basic troubleshooting... but I can't seem to figure out how to redirect from Wix.
I know that Google does not like it when you copy content from the internet. Is there any way that I can basically tell Google 'hey, listen, my website is this now, I'm only copying my own work'. Preferably other than by directly redirecting?
Or if I do redirect, is there any information someone can help me find that more easily explains the process to a new website designer?
So, basically I'm wondering, if I delete the posts from my Wix website, then slowly re-post them to my new website, will Google see this and think 'you're copying, not gonna rank'? Or will it understand that the other website has been taken down, and thus, not penalize me?
Any help would be greatly appreciated. I promise you I've Googled the heck out of this already and can't find anything that I can understand so far.
