So our business has 2 main focuses on our website in related industries but typically have two different target audiences. Many (basically ALL) of our competitors focus on just one, at least in terms of online presence.
We do:
automated truck wash systems (think drive thru car wash for semi trucks), typically for private businesses and cost 6 figures. usually more 'white collar' people.
truck wash soaps/chemicals (for use in those washes but also by many more other types of businesses/manual washes). usually more 'blue collar' people.
There is overlap in the industry.
Would adding pages to support each category possibly help with rankings?
We are pretty competitive with SEO and rankings for automated - it's a smaller industry with fewer competitors.
Soap has dropped off as competitors seem to move up in rankings - they tend to have more page depth and more pages in general with the keywords on them as that is their business focus.
I'm not concerned about the 'deeper' pages ranking but maybe showing google that soap is also important and we have more information about it as well.
My thought is it's also just a little bit harder to rank high for both sectors when our competition tends to focus on only one.
I feel like it's trying to rank for both burgers and chicken sandwiches when your competition is burger king and popeyes - yeah, they're both fast food but...
Any thoughts in general would be very helpful, thank you!
