Does Firefox not support the "preload" parameter?

I have the following in my header

<link rel="preload" as="image" href="/wp-content/uploads/texture-4.jpg"> 

In GTMetrix, if I select Chrome browswer, it works. Even reduces my page load time by .3 seconds. If I simulate FireFox, it doesn't work at all

Does Firefox not support the "preload" parameter?
